Pilgrim
Walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela on three separate occasions, I have documented the landscape and the pilgrims I encountered, over the 800km’s from St. Jean de Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela. I’ve strived to document the honesty and human side of the Camino.
From the sleepy mountain villages, to the recession ravaged city suburbs & all the curious beauty in between, it is a strange & wonderful thing to witness waves of people, slowly passing through. The crossing of a country, on foot, at walking pace. Hours of deep and honest conversation & inevitably silence.. Walking in silence, with strangers, comfortably, for hours..

The portraits from this series formed an exhibition in Caminoways, Dublin in June 2016 & a feature article in Freckle Magazine
