Semblance
Made within the rough confines of Mid Ulster, this work follows themes of rural isolation and environmental anxiety and how certain ways of life continue in this particular section of the Irish rural landscape.
Drawing upon the form of linear communication lines, the constructed environment and capillary-like winter branches to weave a story of a landscape heaving under it’s own wealth and large scale agricultural industry. Façades are presented but outward appearances may vary from what is happening behind.
As part of the series, a film installation ‘a winter of the mind’ has been funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and is currently in production.
