These portraits were made while getting production stills for a documentary by Finepoint Films, ‘Murder of a GAA Chairman’ that was first shown on RTE in 2024. It’s a powerful piece of tv by Fine Point Films that I recommend you take the time to watch. (Link here)
Bridie Brown’s husband Sean Brown was abducted and murdered in May 1997, just months before long term peace broke out in Northern Ireland. One of many innocent victims at that particular time, Sean’s killers have never been brought to justice. Like many others, Bridie continues to fight for justice with dignity and perseverance.
The portrait of Bridie was subsequently selected by the British Journal of Photography to be part of Portrait of Britain 7
(published by Bluecoat Press) going on to be selected as one of the ‘winning’ images and being exhibited all across Britain on digital screens in Airports, Train Stations, etc.
